When we opened the first Taco Mayo across the street from the high school in Norman, Oklahoma, our humble goal was to feed the hungry and to make a decent living doing it. It was May 1978.
Today, Taco Mayo is a burgeoning operation with franchises and company-owned stores throughout the south central region of the United States. Recognizing that success does not come easily-especially for individuals in less fortunate circumstances-we take very seriously our responsibilities to the communities that have been so good to us.
Inspired with gratitude for our success, we chose the occasion of Taco Mayo's 20th anniversary in 1998 to establish a charitable foundation that is nurturing not only the bodies, but also the minds and spirits of people in need throughout the world. |
